Vaccines

At Roslindale Pediatrics, we are dedicated to the health and safety of all our patients. Due to this, it is required that all patients coming to our office receive vaccinations on a schedule that is recommended by the Mass DPH and the AAP. This will allow patients who cannot receive a vaccine due to age or a medical condition to also feel safe coming into our practice.

Please review these useful links from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and from CHOP to see vaccine guidelines and find answers to questions you may have.  If you still have any questions, please feel free to call us so we can discuss them with you.

Forms

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for your appointment.

If you know you will be late for an appointment, please call us in advance to see if we can try to still fit you in.  You may be asked to reschedule to another time or another day.

If you arrive more than 10 minutes late to an appointment, you may be asked to reschedule to another time or another day.

At Roslindale Pediatrics, we pride ourselves on excellent patient access and scheduling availability, which is among the best in the region. Unfortunately, we have recently had many patient no-shows and last-minute cancellations, which disrupt our scheduling and prevent other patients from receiving timely care. To ensure the smooth operation of our practice and to provide the best service to all our patients, we ask that you please call at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to make your appointment. This will allow us the opportunity to offer the time to another patient who may be in need of medical care. When appointments are cancelled last minute or no-shows occur, a slot that would otherwise go to another patient frequently cannot be filled. While we understand that plans change, we are now instituting a $35 fee* for any cancellations / no-shows that occur within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment. Thank you for your understanding as we work to improve our availability for our patients.

*this fee may be adjusted as necessary in accordance with the specifications of the patient’s insurance policy.

At your child’s yearly physical you will receive a health form that includes their full immunization list. This is valid for one year. This form can be used in place of any school, camp, daycare or sports health form. This is provided to you as a courtesy, we can print a copy here and you have access to it on the patient portal. Please allow up to 5 business days to prepare your forms after they are dropped off.

We can also create school medication administration forms and action plans for things such as asthma and allergies. If these were not created at your child’s well visit, please give us a call so we can prepare them for you.

Parking

We have a small parking lot at our office, and there is street parking for 2 hours along Centre Street, and unlimited parking along LaGrange Street, which is a short walking distance.  All of these options are free.  The Bus also stops in front of our office.

Billing Information

Divorced

and

Separated Parents

Payments for office services are due at the time of your office visit. We gladly accept cash, personal checks as well as credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express).

The physicians at our office belong to several HMO’s ( Health Maintenance Organizations) and PPO’s ( Preferred Provider Organizations) including:

Most of these plans require patients to pay a co-payment at the time of the office visit. Our office does the rest of the billing for these insurance companies.

In order for your insurance company to pay for your new baby’s office visits, you must notify them within 30 days of your baby’s birth. Please be sure to call them as soon as you are home from the hospital!

Our office staff is always happy to answer any billing questions you may have and will try to solve any problems that may arise.

Roslindale Pediatric Associates is committed to the health and well-being of our patients. Due to our patient population being children, we rely on parents and other supportive adults to assist us in their care. Caring for children of divorced or separated parents can present our practice with challenges; we felt it was important to voice our practical philosophy to avoid or prevent any misunderstandings going forward. At Roslindale Pediatrics, we ask parents NOT to place our office in the middle family disagreements. We rely on parents to keep our practice atmosphere calm, professional, and caring. We assume that children are in the joint custody of their parents and that both parents have the right to view their child’s medical records and make medical decisions unless Roslindale Pediatrics has been provided with court documents that clearly stipulate otherwise. The parent accompanying a child to a visit will be assumed to have medical decision-making rights. We will not be responsible for informing the non-accompanying parent of the details of the visit. Parents are expected to work out a system of communication that does not require us to function as mediators. All communication will be with parents; we will not have any communication with any legal representative involved in custody disputes unless required to do so by court order. It is our policy to collect a copay at the time of service. Whichever parent accompanies the child to the office is expected to pay the copay at the time of the visit. Occasionally a non-custodial parent provides a child’s health insurance. Because our provider-patient relationship exists with the care-taking parent in these circumstances, the ultimate responsibility for payment rests with the adult who accompanied the child to the office. We reserve the right to ask families to leave our practice if a custody dispute interferes with our ability to care for a child or conduct our daily business operations.
