About Us

Roslindale Pediatric Associates was founded in the 1950’s by John Bowers, MD who practiced on South Street in Roslindale for many years as a solo practitioner. In 1971, he was joined by Robert Stacks, MD and the practice has been growing ever since. When the new ambulatory office building was built in 1995, Roslindale Pediatrics moved into a new location at the Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.  In 2016, we moved to our new location at 2020 Centre Street in West Roxbury.

The medical staff presently includes 7 pediatricians and 3 pediatric nurse practitioners. All of our physicians are Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. We can refer our patients to a large number of hospitals and offices in the greater Boston area.  If you or your child is seen at another facility, please request that notes and records from the specialist are sent to your PCP so we can ensure the best care for our patients.

Due to our affiliations with several of Boston’s medical schools and because we are committed to excellence in medical education, our medical staff is proud to share its knowledge and experience with doctors and nurse practitioners in training by teaching students throughout the year in our office setting. While we always give patients and their parents an opportunity to decline having students accompany the provider in the exam room, we do hope that most will be as enthusiastic as we are about this learning process.

In order to provide the best care for our patients, we use evidence-based care following AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) guidelines and best practices. This means that we use evidence-based clinical guidance that is based on a comprehensive literature review and data analyses with formal rules of evidence in support of each recommendation made.

All are welcome at Roslindale Pediatrics. We are committed to being an inclusive environment that does not tolerate any form of racism, discrimination, or bias. We work hard to make our practice a judgement-free space where patients and their families feel safe and supported. We hope that you will find our practice to be a place where you and your children feel welcome.

Because the health and well-being of our patients is our top priority, Roslindale Pediatrics strictly follows the immunization guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics. All of our patients receive all of the required vaccinations according to a schedule that has been proven to be safe and effective in protecting children from a number of serious and preventable diseases. While we recognize that some parents have concerns and questions about a number of the immunizations, it is our strict policy to follow the AAP schedule.
