New Patients

Newborns

Congratulations! You are having a baby!

The news of a new baby can be both exciting and overwhelming! So may things to think about… and somewhere in those 9 months, we all realize that we need to pick a pediatrician.

What next?

Do your research and find out what is important to you. You have obviously landed on our website for a reason and we are so glad that you are considering our practice to care for your new baby!

An Important Consideration: vaccination!

Vaccination is something we strongly believe in as an essential part of optimal healthcare. If you are not planning on vaccinating or are looking for alternative vaccination schedule, our practice may not be a good match for you.

Who is accepting new patients?

Take a look at our physicians page to learn more about the doctors at RPA. Those who are accepting newborns to their panel will be highlighted. Every patient will also be assigned a Nurse Practitioner as part of their Care Team. Of note, even doctors who are not officially accepting newborns will always accept new siblings from a family that they already care for!

Prenatal appointments: yes or no?

We offer prenatal visits or meet & greets one or two times per momth to those who are interested in coming to our office and having a tour of the facility, as well as getting to know more about our practice itself.

If you decide to skip the tour, that is fine too. You can always call our office or check this website with any questions in the meantime.

Joining the Practice

Once you've delivered and your inpatient nursery team has decided on your discharge date, call the practice for your first appointment. Nothing else needs to be done ahead of time. Welcome packets and other paperwork will be handled within your first few visits. We look forward to meeting you and your new baby!

Transferring Care

Making sure our practice is a good match for your family

In order to ensure that our practice is a good fit for your family, one of our nurse practitioners, takes the time to call all families looking to transfer their care to our practice and talk to them about the ins and outs of the practice, policies and procedures, etc.

An important thing to consider when transferring care is vaccination. Vaccination is something we strongly believe in as an essential part of optimal healthcare. If you are not planning on vaccinating or are looking for alternative vaccination schedule, unfortunately, our practice may not be a good match for you.

Next Steps

After you speak to an NP, she will provide you with next steps and timelines. You'll need to request medical records from the practice from which you are transferring care--we do not schedule appointments without having received medical records. You will need to sign a release of information from your outgoing pediatric office so that records can be transferred to us physically or digitally.

Thank you for considering Roslindale Pediatrics to be your family’s next pediatric office!
