EPIPEN RECALL

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is alerting consumers to Meridian Medical Technologies’ voluntary recall
of 13 lots of Mylan’s EpiPen and EpiPen Jr (epinephrine injection) Auto-Injector products used for emergency treatment of severe allergic reactions. This recall is due to the potential that these devices may contain a defective part that may result in the devices’ failure to activate. The recalled product was manufactured by Meridian Medical Technologies and distributed by Mylan Specialty.
While the number of reported failures is small, EpiPen products that potentially contain a defective part are being recalled because of the potential for life-threatening risk if a severe allergic reaction goes untreated. Consumers should keep and use their current EpiPens if needed until they get a replacement. Consumers should contact Mylan at 800-796-9526 or customer.service@mylan.com with any questions.
As stated on the product label, consumers should always seek emergency medical help right away after using their EpiPens, particularly if the device did not activate.
At this time, the 13 lots identified – distributed between Dec. 17, 2015, and July 1, 2016 – are the only EpiPen lots impacted by the U.S. recall. Consumers who have EpiPens from lots that are not included in this recall, do not need to replace their EpiPen prior to its expiration date.

We have moved!

We are excited to announce that we have moved our office.  We are now at 2020 Centre Street in West Roxbury.  We will no longer be seeing patients at our old office in the Faulkner Hospital.

We are striving to make the move as seamless as possible for our patients, and we are making sure that we keep the things that our patients love about our practice.  We continue to have our same themed rooms; so you don’t need to say goodbye to the Fish, Train or Balloon Rooms.   There is no need to learn a new phone number, as our main number will still be 617-522-3100.   We are also pleased that Quest Diagnostics has moved with us.  So if your child needs blood work or other diagnostic testing, we will continue to have a lab conveniently located within our office.

There are a few changes that we think are exciting.  There will be a FREE PARKING lot and ample nearby on-street parking.  We are also working to upgrade our communication with you.  We will have a new phone system that should direct you to the right person in our office to help you when you call.   We are also encouraging patients to sign up for our patient portal when they are in the office.  We have just started this new option this year, and are looking forward to continuing to upgrade it as we transition to a new electronic medical record later in 2017.

And to answer one of our most popular questions, despite our new zip code, we are still calling ourselves Roslindale Pediatrics.

If you have any questions or concerns or recommendations about our move, please feel free to contact us at 617-522-3100.
